Medical Terminology Course Objectives:
At the conclusion of Medical Terminology for Health Professions participants will be able to:
- Define the meaning of medical terminology word roots, suffixes, and prefixes
- Recognize and understand basic medical terms
- Identify and decipher medical abbreviations
- Spell and pronounce basic medical terminology
- Analyze unfamiliar terms using the knowledge of word roots, suffixes and prefixes gained in the course
Students who enroll in our Online Medical Terminology class will have access for one full year. Completion times vary depending on connection speed, how fast the student reads and if they choose to do every exercise and every game. Students receive a certificate with CEUs when passing the final examination with a 70% or better and completing a short course evaluation. Students can take the test up to three times.
Course Credit & Completion Time
Upon successful completion of the Online Medical Terminology course students will receive a certificate of completion for 9.5 Continuing Education Units (CEUs). Corexcel is an authorized CEU sponsor of the International Association of Continuing Education and Training. Students can earn college credit for taking this course for an additional fee of $300 and registering over the phone 1-888-658-6641 in the U.S. or 1-302-477-9730. Most schools will convert the CEUs into college credits. If you would rather convert the CEUs contact your school and ask them if a course accredited for CEUs by ITCAP can be translated into credit hours at that institution. They will often ask for objectives and a course outline which you can download by clicking here.
